HILCO AND BLOCKBUSTER TEAM TO CLOSE OVER 450 STORES

Blockbuster Entertainment (XNYSE: BBI) and Hilco Merchant Resources have completed seven phases of a strategic store closing process.Blockbuster Entertainment (XNYSE: BBI) and Hilco Merchant Resources have completed seven phases of a strategic store closing process.  To date, in exess of 450 store locations have been closed and inventory liquidated.  Included in the inventory sale process has been millions of dollars of previously viewed movie DVDs and previously played games in Blockbuster warehouses.  HMR has also sold all furniture, fixtures and equipment through its Hilco Fixed Asset Recovery subsidiary.  As an integral part of the process, HMR implemented a special program to transition customers from closing to go-forward Blockbuster stores.
